Description:
Succulent herb up to c. 15 cm high, with trailing stems. Leaves opposite, sessile, 2-4.5 cm long, succulent, subcylindric, grooved along the upper surface, grey-green, finely papillose. Flowers in several-flowered, forked inflorescences, 18-25 mm in diameter, white, faintly scented.
Notes: Although originally thought to be restricted to South-central Zimbabwe, it has also been recorded from the greater Penhalonga-Nyanga area.
When in flower it can be easily distinguished from the more widespread D. mahonii by the white flowers, which are pinkish-purple in that species.

Habitat: On granite rocks.
Altitude range: (metres) 1150 - 1645 m
Flowering time:
Worldwide distribution: Restricted to granite outcrops from Nyanga to Limpopo Escarpment.
Zimbabwe distribution: E,S
