Description:
Succulent perennial herb forming small clumps up to c. 5 cm high, growing from a thick rootstock. Leaves in tight rosettes, greenish to purplish, thickly fleshy, 1.5-2 cm long, minutely tuberculate on the surface and covered in clustered long greyish hairs towards the apex. Inflorescence up to 15 cm tall including peduncle, 2-6-flowered. Flowers white or pink, opening for a few hours in the afternoon.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: subnuda: almost naked, probably referring to having hairs only near the apex of the leaves.
Habitat: In shallow soils on rocky outcrops
