Common names: Sundew (English)
Status: Native
Small insectivorous perennial herb. Leaves in basal rosettes, obovate-spathulate, covered in stalked sticky glands to trap insects. No distinct petiole but gradually broadening into leaf-blade. Flowering stem arising laterally, curving to become erect. Inflorescence several-flowered. Flowers pink, red or purple, often do not open.
Notes: This species can be distinguished from the similar Drosera burkeana by the spathulate leaves that gradually narrow into a petiole-like base.

Habitat: In wet, peaty soils overlying rock.

Worldwide distribution: Malawi, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Eswatini, Mpumalanga, Freestate and KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa.
