Description: |
See var. fragilis for general description. This variety is mainly distinguished by very broadly obovate to subcircular leaves, which are more densely hairy, rounded at the apex and with a distinct petiole, 1-5 mm long. It also has slightly longer, corollas, filaments, follicles and styles. |
Notes: | Both the African Plants Database and the Plantlist suggest that var. suborbicularis should be sunk under var. fragilis; however, we have retained it as a separate entity for the time being. |

Habitat: | In shade on massive shale outcrops, in rock cracks and very thin soil. |
