Description:
Slender perennial herb, growing from a tuberous rootstock. Stems more or less erect, up to 60 cm high, simple or few-branched. Leaves 3-foliolate, with leaflets linear-lanceolate. Lower leaves sometimes with leaflets slightly wider, narrowly elliptic. Flowers in a terminal raceme, orange-yellow on the inside and reddish-brown to burgundy on the outside. Ovary and calyx densely silky hairy. Pods c. 5 cm long, very narrow, straight or slightly curved.

Habitat: In montane grassland, usually near streams or rivers.
