Common names:
Frequency:	Rather rare in Zimbabwe. Only a handful of collections from Hwange, Victoria Falls and Kariba are present at SRGH.
Status:	Native
Description:	Shrubby perennial herb with annual stems, growing from a woody rootstock. Leaves narrowly oblong-elliptic, up to c. 30 × 7 cm, sometimes much broader near the base of the stems, pubescent; apex bluntly rounded. Flowers pink to mauve in terminal racemes up to 12 cm long. Capsule up to 7 × 4 mm, elliptic-oblong, slightly winged mainly near the apex.
Notes:	Note: this species appears to be rather similar to P. marensis, mainly differing in the smaller flowers and the more rounded apical lobes of the capsule.

Habitat:	In woodland, often on Kalahari sand.
