Description:
A many stemmed shrub up to 1.2 m tall; stems woody, cylindric, thick, densely spreading yellowish hairy; leaves alternate or rarely sub-opposite, petiole (0.6)1-2 cm long, subterete, thick and densely yellowish-patent-hairy, lamina light green and usually shining and glabrous above, paler and dull beneath, 7.5-20 x 4-12.3 cm, broadly elliptic or obovate or rarely oblong, obtuse, rounded truncate or emarginated and mucronate at apex, bullate towards the margin and with a much thickened , bone-coloured and undulate or crisped margin, rounded or somewhat acute at the base, very coriaceous, glabrous or with patent weak sparse hairs above and a double indumentum of very short appressed whitish hairs on the lamina and long patent yellowish hairs on the nerves and reticulation below, midrib impressed above, very prominent beneath, lateral nerves (0.3)0.5-1.2 cm apart at an angle of 53˚-75˚ with the midrib, forked near the margin, reticulation impressed above and rather prominent below; inflorescences terminal and axillary, congested, shorter than the leaves; calyx segments 1.5-2 mm long, lanceolate-ovate, acute, villous outside; petals cream, oblong, appressed-hairy; drupe black, shining, 5.5-7 x 7-9 mm, compressed-depressed, not or only a little emarginate.
