Description: |
Deciduous tree up to 10 m. Leaves: petiole up to 15 mm; lamina up to 10 × 6 cm, oblong to narrowly oblong, shortly pubescent above, tomentellous beneath; base rounded to subcordate; apex rounded and usually shortly mucronate; margin entire to sharply spiny-serrate. Inflorescence up to 16 cm. Flowers yellowish or greenish in fascicles or small subsessile cymes along the rhachis. Petals 0.7-1 mm in diameter. Fruit c.10 mm in diameter, subspherical, tomentellous. Seed c.7 mm in diameter, subspherical, black, shiny, nearly surrounded by the fleshy, orange-red arillode |
