Description:
Procumbent or spreading suffrutex, less than 1.5 m. Leaves broadly oblong with serrate margins, thinly coverered in appressed hairs above, more densely below. Inflorescences axillary. Sepals longer than petals, pubescent on the back. Flowers yellow, tinged with orange-red.
Notes: The species may be confused with Grewia flavescens but differs in its distinct dwarf habit and in the round, not 4-angled, stems.

Habitat: In open Brachystegia woodland.
