Description:
Annual or short-lived perennial suffrutex, less than 1 m with most parts covered in rough stellate hairs. Leaves lanceolate; margins coarsely serrate. Flowers solitary in the upper leaf axils, cream or pale yellow. Epicalyx segments linear, 5 × 1 mm. This species is similar to Sida spp. but is distinguished by the prescence of epicalyx bracts.

Habitat: A weed of disturbed places, roadsides, old cultivation and rubbish dumps.

Flowering time:Oct - Apr
Worldwide distribution: Native to North America and a now pantropical weed.
