Description:
More or less prostrate perennial herb. Leaves, up to 6 × 6 cm, shallowly to very deeply 3-5-lobed, stellate pubescent above, stellate-tomentose below; base cordate; margin serrate-crenate. Flowers solitary, axillary, up to 8 cm in diameter,yellow with a dark maroon-red centre. Epicalyx of 7-9 bracts, up to 5 mm long, filiform. Calyx 10-20 mm long; lobes elongate triangular, joined at the base for 4-5 mm, densely covered with bristly stellate hairs. Fruit a subspherical capsule, c. 12 mm in diameter, densely stellate pubescent
