Description: |
Usually a shrub or a much-branched small tree. Leaves somewhat crowded at the ends of branches, obovate-oblong, up to 8.5 cm long, thickly leathery dark green with a yellowish midrib, paler green below; margin entire. Flowers in many-flowered axillary clusters near the ends of the branches, pendulous on long stalks, c. 2.5 cm long greenish-white. Fruit a berry, green turning yellow to orange when ripe, pointed at the apex with the persistent style, edible. |
