Description:
Trailing or scrambling annual or perennial herb up to c. 150 cm tall. Stem 4-ridged, branched. Leaves opposite along the stem, more or less narrowly ovate-triangular, up to 9 × 3 cm, pale yellow-green, conspicuously 3-veined. Flowers in 2-3-flowered cymes, together forming lax terminal panicles, bright mauve, magenta-pink or purple, 3-4 cm in diameter. Anthers yellow, twisted. Fruit a cylindric-ovoid capsule, c. 18 × 5 mm.
