Description:
|
Perennial twining herb with milky sap. Stems 2-3 m long, covered in soft hairs; leaf-like stipules at the nodes. Leaves ovate, sparsely hairy, 3-5-veined from the broadly cordate base. Flowers in axillary pseudo-umbels. Corolla lobes green, often more or less densely tinged maroon, spreading or reflexed. Outer corona lobes creamy-white to orange-yellow with a horn-like apical appendage curving inwards; inner lobes greenish, striped maroon. Fruit usually a single follicle, 5-8.5 cm long, softly spiny. |
