Status: Native
Succulent herb. Rootstock a small tuber. Stems prostrate, climbing or pendulous. Leaves with cordate base, whitish-variegated along veins above or uniform green. Cymes 1-few-flowered. Corolla glabrous outside, with basal inflated part shorter than the tubular upper part; expanded above into a trumpet or funnel-shaped mouth; lobes blackish with purplish hairs. Follicles terete, linear.
Notes: The images shown (from Ridge Rd, Harare) are of a cultivated plant. We have followed Dyer in treating C. linearis subsp. woodii as synonymous with C. woodii. The question as to whether C. euryacme is also a synonym is not clear and for the time being this has been retained as a separate species.
