Description: |
Succulent perennial herb with dull green ascending stems up to c. 4 cm high forming small clumps 3-10 cm wide. Flowers 2-3 together at or near the tips of the stems, erect on pedicels 3-5 mm long. Corolla dark purple inside 9-12 mm in diameter; lobes ovate horizontally spreading or recurved, wrinkly-velvety inside. Corona dark purple c. 4 mm in diameter. |

Habitat: | Usually on rocky outcrops, in crevices or hill sides, sometimes in wet seepage areas in shallow soils overlying rock or in leaf litter on sandy soils in dry woodland. |
