Description:
Small patch-forming annual herb, less than 5 cm tall. Stems 4-angled, leafy. Leaves opposite, sessile (lower leaves shortly petiolate), ovate, up to 1.5 cm long, hairless; margin sparsely crenate-dentate. Flowers solitary in the upper leaf axils, very shortly pedicellate, white with pink marking; upper lip bifid; lower lip 3-lobed. Fruit a subsessile, narrowly ellipsoid pointed capsule, up to 8 × 2.5 mm.

Habitat: In pockets of shallow soil overlying rock.

Worldwide distribution: Angola, DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia and South Africa.
