Description: |
Perennial herb, up to 1.2 m tall. Stems mostly simple but much-branched in the inflorescence. Leaves in fascicles along the stems, very narrowly lanceolate or linear, 3-4 cm long, hairless; margin shallowly to coarsely toothed in the upper third only. Inflorescences in many-flowered branched terminal heads composed of multiple spikes. Flowers white with a yellow-orange throat. |
Notes: | Note: see subsp. inyangana for comparison. The characteristics for distinguishing the subspecies seem somewhat weak and variation between the two has been recorded. Further research is needed to establish the validity of the taxonomic distinction. |
