Description:
Annual herb, with decumbent branches, 10-40 cm long. Leaves 1-3 cm, triangular-ovate, coarsely crenate-serrate; petiole short. Pedicels up to 40 mm, longer than the leaves. Corolla 8-12 mm in diameter, bright blue, the lower lobe often paler or white. Capsule 2-lobed, the lobes widely divergent, so that the capsule is nearly twice as long as wide. |
Notes:
It was first recorded near the Honeydew Farm in Harare in September 1986 and has persisted in the same location since then. It was possibly introduced through soil contamination. It is now a common but localised weed on the road sides in the area but not known to occur elsewhere. |
