Description: |
Shrub or multi-stemmed small tree up to c. 4 m tall. Branches rigid greyish, armed with short spines. Leaves in clusters on small woolly spurs, usually 3-foliolate; leaflets obovate-oblong, 4-19 mm long, grey-green; apex rounded to notched; margin entire, rolled under. Flowers appearing with the leaves, showy, bright yellow, up to 3.5 cm in diameter, petals wrinkled along the edges, in 1-3-flowered clusters among the leaves. Fruit a flattened slender capsule, up to 7 × 1 cm, pale brown with a sharply pointed tip, dehiscent. |
