Description:
Annual or occasionally a short-lived perennial herb, with prostrate or decumbent fleshy stems; plants glabrous except for ciliate hairs along the leaf margins; inflorescences terminal, consisting of 9-25 small whitish sessile flowers.

Habitat: A species of permanently damp areas.
Altitude range: (metres) 650 - 1850 m

Worldwide distribution: Widespread in tropical Africa and Mpumalanga, South Africa, Madagascar, Seychelles, Mascarene Islands.
