| Description: |
Shrub 1-4 m high. Leaves opposite, not markedly dimorphic, oblong-elliptic, 2-10.5 cm long, thinly textured to slightly leathery, hairless on both surfaces, midrib prominent beneath, domatia shallowly pit-like, ciliate or hairy; petiole 1.5-5 mm long. Stipules with a broad base c. 1 mm long and an awn up to 1.5 mm long. Inflorescences mostly axillary but also on older leafless nodes, 1-4-flowered on peduncles less than 1 mm long. Corolla mostly 5-merous, scented, white with a tube 4-8 mm long, hairy in the throat; lobes 3-4.5 mm long. Fruit c. 9 mm in diameter, red. |
