Description: |
Hairless small shrub up to 2 m tall. Leaves clustered on short lateral spurs or spaced along young twigs, sessile, narrowly obovate, oblanceolate or linear-lanceolate, 2–6.3 cm long; domatia absent; bacterial nodules few to many but sometimes absent, dot-like or elliptical, scattered; stipules on young twigs with truncate limb 1–2 mm long and apiculum 1–1.5 mm long. Inflorescence-supporting branches up to 3.5 cm long, slender, leafless or occasionally bearing short lateral spurs. Inflorescences, 8–13 mm wide excluding corollas; pedicels 0.8–4 mm long; bracts up to 3.5 mm long, densely covered with silky white hairs inside. Calyx lobes linear-lanceolate, linear-triangular or strap-shape, 2–3 mm long, 0.6–1 mm wide at the base, spreading when mature. Corolla white, greenish-white or yellowish-white; hairless outside; tube 6–9 mm long, not bearded at the throat; lobes more or less narrowly oblong-ovate, 4–6 mm long. Fruit 5–6 mm in diameter, crowned by calyx limb with spreading lobes, black when ripe. |
