Description:	Erect perennial herb, up to 1.3 m. Stems covered in whitish hairs. Leaves sessile, oblong to lanceolate, margins entre or irregularly serrate, pubescent on both sides, venation prominent below. Inflorescence branched, terminal; capitula hemispheric with dense golden yellow florets.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name:	auriculata: "with ears", auriculate; referring to the basal lobes of the leaves, which clasp the stems.
Habitat:	In vlei grassland, often in disturbed areas.
