Status: Native
Description:
Sprawling or suberect herb, up to 75 cm, branching from the base. Branches with long hairs, distinctly winged, 1-3mm wide, entire or spinulose-dentate, particularly along the upper parts of stems and branches. Leaves up to c. 6 cm long, with long hairs and sessile glands on both surfaces; base decurrent into the wings; margin spinulose-dentate. Glomerules on long haiy and glandular peduncles, terminal or in the upper leaf axils, usually ellipsoid when mature.
Notes: The specimens from Victoria Falls appear to be less conspicuously spinulose-dentate than material from elsewhere. It has been suggested that this might represent an intermediate form between S. angolensis and S. gazaensis (Wild in Kirkia 12-1 p 101, 1980)
