Description:
Erect perennial herb. Leaves mainly around the lower parts of the stem, long and narrowly elliptic, hairless above, hairy beneath. The inflorescences of loosely branched flowerheads, pale yellow to straw coloured.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: nudifolium: with naked leaves, referring to the hairless upper surface of the leaves.
Habitat: In grassland. It may be locally abundant in disturbed areas and on roadsides.
Altitude range: (metres) 1470 - 1880 m
Flowering time:Oct - May
Worldwide distribution: Widespread in Africa from West Africa to Northeast, East and southern Africa to the Cape; also in Yemen.
