Description: |
Much-branched, straggling perennial, occasionally scrambling several meters high into surrounding vegetation. Leaves variable, up to 6 cm long, from linear-oblong to lanceolate or obovate-spathulate, grey-green above, glandular, covered in greyish-white velvet hairs below, sometimes also above. Capitula in more or less dense terminal flattened heads, matted together with greyish-white woolly hairs below. Involucral bracts c. 3-seriate, up to 2.3 mm long, oblong, shiny yellow, sometimes tinged brown. Florets bright yellow. |
Notes: | NOTE: This is one of the most common and conspicuous species of the genus in the E Highlands, this scrambler can sometimes cover entire hillsides. The contrasting colours of greyish leaves and bright yellow flowerheads make an attractive display. |
