Description:
Perennial herb, erect or scandent usually less than 1 m high but sometimes climbing up to several meters high. Stems slender, herbaceous, woody and branching towards the base, hairless or sparsely to densely hairy when young. Leaves deltoid to deltoid reniform, mainely up to 6 cm long, distinctly to shallowly lobed, upper leaves often with lateral lobes below the main lamina or appearing as auricles at the base of the petiole, bright green, hairless or hairy when young above, usually hairy beneath especially on veins, or thickly cobwebby; margin coarsely dentate; petiole mostly up to 4.5 cm long, sparsely or densely hairy or cobwebby; basal auricles small or large, coarsely dentate. Capitula few to many in lax branched heads; peduncles up to 44 mm long, hairless or hairy or cobwebby when young. Ray florets usually 5-8, rarely as many as 16; disc florets usually 14-32; corolla 3.5-5.5 mm long, all bright yellow.

Derivation of specific name: deltoidea: shaped like a triangle
Habitat: At forest margins, in riverine vegetation, along roadsides or among rocks and in bracken scrub in montane grassland.

Flowering time:All year but mainly Jul - Aug
Worldwide distribution: DRC, Rwanda, Uganda, Sudan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and KwaZulu-Natal, Eastern Cape South Africa.
