Description:
Erect or decumbent, succulent perennial herb. Stems up to 60 cm long, fleshy, branching near the base. Leaves mostly near the base of the plant, sessile, clasping the stem, ovate, up to 15 × 5 cm, grey-green, often with purple mottling on the edges and near the base; margin entire or coarsely toothed or lobed. Capitula 1-few at the ends of branches, solitary on long fleshy peduncles; florets orange to scarlet; ray florets absent.
Notes: The specimens in the photographs appear to be the first record from the Western Division.
