Status: Cultivated and rarely naturalised
Description:
Shrub to 3 m. Leaves 3-foliolate below, often 1-foliolate towards the stem apices. Leaflets discolourous, glabrous above, tomentose below, usually variegated. Inflorescences of compound panicles, terminal or axillary in the upper leaf axils. Flowers blue.
Notes: This shrub is commonly planted in Zimbabwean gardens and does not generally appear to escape. However, we have one record (no. 102428 dated 22 August 2009) where it appeared to be very well naturalised on a slope below the gardens of the Caribbaea Bay Hotel near Kariba.
