Description: |
Small to medium-sized tree. Bark grey, rough on the older trunk, peeling off the branches to reveal a yellowish layer underneath. Thorns paired at the nodes, straight, often very long (up to 15 cm). Leaves compound, large with 8-20 pairs of pinnae; leaflets pale green or yellowish-green. Flowers in axillary, globose heads, creamy-white. Pods large, thick and woody, sometimes splitting long after they have fallen and dried. |
