Description:
Description as for Argemone mexicana but the flowers are pale yellow or cream-coloured.
Notes: Plants with bright yellow or cream-coloured flowers were previously treated as forms of Argemone mexicana. However, the cream-coloured plants are now referred to as a separate species, namely Argemone ochroleuca Sweet subsp. ochroleuca while the bright yellow plants remain under a more narrowly defined Argemone mexicana.
Derivation of specific name: ochroleuca: yellowish-white.
Habitat: In similar habitats to A. mexicana, namely wasteland, disturbed sites and sandy river beds.
