Fruit a berry or capsule. Worldwide: 59 genera and 2400 species in tropical America (1 species: Pitcairnia feliciana (A. Chev.) Harms & Mildbr. occurs in W Africa) Zimbabwe: 6 cultivated genera and 7 cultivated taxa. |
