Description of the genus

Evergreen shrubs; leaves alternate, pinnately veined, densely white-felted on lower-side; capitula discoid or radiate; phyllaries in 1 main row with short supplementary ones at the base of the capitulum; disc flowers cream or yellow; ligules yellow. Fruit an achene.

Worldwide: 48 species, native to New Zealand.

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
