Description of the genus

Scandent, climbing, somewhat succulent perennial herbs. Leaves alternate, petiolate, deltoid-ovate in outline, 3-5 lobed on either side; base cordate, palmately veined. Capitula discoid, in corymbose panicles. Involucre calyculate, narrowly campanulate; phyllaries 8. Disc florets of corolla yellow. Pappus of many fine bristles.

Worldwide: Monotypic genus, endemic to southern Africa.

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
