Description of the genus
Trees. Twigs, leaves, inflorescences and fruit dotted with peltate glands. Leaves imparipinnate with alternate leaflets; margins entire. Inflorescences of terminal panicles. Flowers yellow, sometimes suffused with red or violet; standard petal reflexed. Fruits with a spiny basal seed chamber spiny and a broad wing above. Worldwide: Tropical America. Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon. |
