Description of the genus

Shrub or small tree. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets opposite or alternate. Inflorescence a pendulous raceme. Flowers blue to deep mauve. Calyx campanulate, 5-lobed. Petals with the standard semi-circular, much broader than other petals. Stamens free from base. Fruit linear, flattened.

Worldwide: 1 species in south central Africa

Zimbabwe: 1 cultivated taxon.
