Common names: Pearl acacia (English) Queensland silver wattle (English)
Description: Short-lived, unarmed shrub or small tree. All parts are covered in silvery-grey velvet. Leaves only compound in seedlings, soon turning into phyllodes, resembling simple leaves. Flowers in bright yellow spherical heads. Pods silvery-grey, flattened and often twisted and curled.
Notes: A commonly cultivated species, often on roadsides, from which it tends to spread into the surrounding bush.

Worldwide distribution: Native to Queensland and northern New South Wales, Australia; naturalised in southern Africa
