Common names: Chinyakatoro (Shona) Large-leaved curry bush (English) Muparatsaya (Shona)
Description: An aromatic shrub with large, showy yellow flowers at the ends of the branches. The leaves contain minute oil glands, which show as translucent dots, when held up against the light. See Hypericum revolutum for comparison.
Notes:
Derivation of specific name: roeperianum: named after J.A.C. Roeper (1801-1885), a botanical colleague of Schimper, the original author of this species.
Flowering time:Mainly Jun - Nov
Worldwide distribution: From Ethiopia and the Sudan southwards through eastern tropical Africa to South Africa
