Common names:	Brisbane box (English)
Description:	Tree. Bark pink-brown, mostly deciduous on the upper branches. Leaves: petiole up to 2 cm; lamina lanceolate, 7-15 × 2.5-4.5 cm, acute, borne in false whorls of 4-5. Inflorescences pedunculate, cymose, 3-7-flowered. Petals 6-9 mm, orbicular. Stamen fascicles 10-15 mm long; stamens very numerous (over 70 per fascicle); filaments inflexed. Fruit turbinate to hemispherical. Seed 2-3 mm long.
Notes:	Commonly planted as a street tree in Harare
Derivation of specific name:	confertus: crowded together, perhaps referring to the leaves.
Flowering time:	Oct-Nov
Worldwide distribution:	A forest tree of eastern coastal Australia from north of Cooktown, Queensland to the northern side of the Hunter River Valley, New South Wales.
