Description of the genus

Shrubs. Leaves ericoid, sessile, alternate, often fasciculate. Capitula tiny, crowded in axillary inflorescences. Capitula homogamous, 1-flowered. Phyllaries 4-seriate, tomentose. Achene cylindric; pappus 1-seriate, plumose.

Worldwide: 34 species in tropical and South Africa and the Mascarenes

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
