Description of the genus

Fronds pinnatifid, monomorphic, articulated. Sori circular to oblong, borne on either side of the costa and winged rachis.

Derivation of name: phloebium: veined, the frond venation is pronounced.

Worldwide: ± 4 species, neotropical distribution

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
