Description of the genus

Trees. Stipules small, caducous. Leaves imparipinnate; leaflets alternate, with numerous translucent dots or streaks. Flowers in axillary racemes. Calyx subspherical, entire before dehiscence; disk 0. Receptacle campanulate. Petals 0. Stamens numerous (>20), crowded in several rows around the top of the receptacle, shortly connate at base. Pod indehiscent.

Worldwide: 5 species in tropical Africa and Madagascar

Zimbabwe: 1 taxon.
