Biography

Italian botanist (mycologist, pteridologist), from 1935 - 58 he worked at the herbarium of the University of Florence, then professor of botany and director of the BG in Sassari in Sardinia (1958-1959), from 1959 professor at the Institute of Botany at the university in Genoa and Perugia. He was a specialist in ferns and plants from dry zones, also dealt with the phytogeography of tropical Africa. He traveled and collected in Libya in 1934 and Ethiopia in 1937, among others; his collections are kept in BR, FI.
