Biography

Cathy was born in Mutare, she grew up in hills of Penhalonga. She is an expert in fungi, all groups are studied but the majority are the ectomycorrhizal, miombo species (Amanita, all the boletes, Cantharellus, Cortinarius, Inocybe, Lactarius/Lactifluus, Russula), and Termitomyces. She collected in Zimbabwe, Zambia, South Africa, Namibia, and sporadicly in Belgium. Duplicates of her collections are held in in Meise Botanic Garden, the rest are in her own private collection (which is actually part of the National Mycological Collection of Zimbabwe: Parts at Plant Protection Research Institute in Harare, Parts at University of Zimbabwe, Parts at Forestry Research Centre.)
