Robust perennial herb, 1-3 m tall, with a fleshy rootstock. Stems finely grooved. Leaves large, 50 cm or more, ovate-triangular in outline, 2 to 3 pinnate with ovate-lanceolate leaflets, often deeply divided; margins irregularly serrate. Umbels terminal and lateral, lateral usually exceeding the terminal. Umbel rays 7-13, bracts small, linear, inconspicuous, sometimes absent. Flowers greenish-white. Fruits up to 10 × 9 mm, almost round, strongly dorsiventrally compressed with lateral wings up to 3 mm wide. |
