Description: |
Perennial, densely caespitose, with a short knotty branched rhizome. Panicle often narrow but lax, with a few spikelets. Glumes usually longer than 10 mm. Lemma 3.5-4 mm. long, excluding the callus. Central awn of the lemma fairly rigid, usually dark in colour, diverging at a right angle from the lemma, plumose to the base. 2n = 44. |
