Description:
Straggling shrub or small tree. Leaves alternate, oblanceolate to elliptic, often slightly notched at the apex. The leaves are held in one plane and the ends of the branches are distinctly flattened. Flowers in small axillary clusters, white, sweetly scented. Fruit a ellipsoid drupe, fleshy, red when ripe.

Habitat: In a variety of habitats; in the understorey and along the margins of evergreen forest but also on rocky outcrops and in deciduous woodland.
