Description: |
Shrubby, branched perennial herb u to 1.5 m tall. Leaves up to 13 cm long, ovate, 5-9-veined from the base, variously hairy on both surfaces; margin crenate-serrate; petiole up to 10 cm. Flowers unisexual on the same plant. Female flowers in a large branched terminal head, up to 25 cm long; male flowers in axillary spikes. Fruit c. 3 mm in diameter, 3-lobed, with stalked glands. |
