Description: |
Robust perennial herb, up to 1.2m tall. Stems often densely pilose stems, particularly near the apex. Leaves spirally arranged, ovate to elliptic-lanceolate, up to 10 × 5 cm, densely pubescent on the midrib and veins below; margin finely toothed. Flowers solitary or in 2-3-flowered clusters, pink, up to 35 × 35 mm. Dorsal petal broadly ovate, c. 15 × 20 mm, emarginate at the apex; upper lateral petals ovate, up to 10 × 6 mm, much smaller than lower petals, more or less apiculate; lower petals up to 2 × 2.5 cm, obliquely broadly ovate oblong, emarginate near the tip of the inner margin. Spur on the lower sepal 25 to 35 mm long, filiform, pubescent, incurved. |
